Quick Update

Well, baby and I are doing great.  We are 33 weeks today!  We are also moved into the new house.  We won't have internet until Monday though and even though I do have an aircard since I work from home my data usage is getting eaten up quickly.  I personally think something is wrong with my aircard and it shouldn't be using it up that fast but that is just another thing I need to call about.

So until Monday! And goooooo Niners!!! I haven't seen my boys in the big game since I was a kid...I am so excited!

Baby Bump Update

How far along: 31 weeks!

Size of baby: A pineapple.  This is the first food that I have thought "wow, that has some size to it!"  He should be at least 3 lbs and about 16 inches long.

Movement: This kid sure loves to stretch.  That's what I think he is doing anyway.  Throughout the day I'll get his movement on both sides of my tummy at the exact same time.  Last night he was really going at it so Kevin felt it and was kind of blown away.  Then he apologized.  What?! It's hard to explain to someone what a baby moving inside you feels like and I guess he thought it hurt.  Not at all.  Well, until he gets in my ribs...ouch! Oh, it is uncomfortable and boy does he love it there.

Sleep: Ugh...even when I am exhausted I still get so uncomfortable it wakes me up.  And the crazy dreams just keep coming!

Maternity clothes: Yep! I still wear my regular lounge/yoga clothes.

Symptoms: My idea of this is what changes purely because of pregnancy so one of my recent "symptoms" is slow-growing leg hair.  Pretty awesome.  It's uncomfortable to shave with this belly so the less I have to do the better!  Oh, and the headaches.  I took my first pain reliever (Tylenol) over the weekend.  I woke up with a monstrous headache and after a few hours of it and it only getting worse (my eye was hurting) I had to do it.  I had a full day ahead of me which included a wedding so I had no time for the natural methods.  I feel a little bad but at the same time it is ok and the baby can feel your emotions so I did it for both of us...right?

Cravings: I have really been loving flavored sparkling water lately.

Baby daddy: This man makes me laugh.  Well, if I weren't laughing I may just get annoyed:)  He is annoyed with how much stuff we have for Lucas and he isn't even here yet.  Sweetie, babies need a lot of stuff!  I think it's just bothering him that all the stuff is here at our apartment.  It won't look like so much when we move.  He even said "how much clothes does one baby need?!" We have maybe 10 outfits for this kid and they all range from 0-12 months.  I can't wait to move so he can see how this will all work!

Weekend Wrap-Up

What a weekend!  Thursday night was Kevin's company holiday party.  They held it at The California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco.  Thursday night is only for those aged 21 and up.  It was a fun night.  There were DJs and everything was open for us.  It was pretty cool to explore the aquarium, various exhibits and planetarium with just adults.

On Friday I worked from our new house and met with contractors.  We finally picked a flooring contractor and picked out our floor.  We spent most of the night there getting stuff done.

Saturday we got up early for the full day we had ahead of us.  Kevin had to do some work in the morning and then we flew down to San Diego.  I had my first baby shower with my San Diego friends which was wonderful! I have such amazing friends.  They made me feel so special and it was wonderful to hang out with them even if it was for just a few hours.

Panini bar...delicious!

What makes up the contents of the diaper? I was pretty darn good at this;)
Love, love, love these ladies!

One of Kevin's cousins was getting married so after the shower we headed on over to the rehearsal dinner.  It was great spending time with my in-law family.

On Sunday we enjoyed brunch on the beach at one of our favorite spots and then went to the wedding.  My husband and I really love weddings and boy was this a good one!  So much love and so much fun.  I absolutely love dancing and this was the right crowd for me but it took one song for me to think that I may just go into labor if I dance all night so instead I took pictures:)
I got in one pic:)

The lovely bride and groom.

Love the antique theme.
Kevin dancing with Grandma.

One dancing group!
What a weekend! And this is just the first of seven planned weekends in a row I have.  We flew out of San Diego first thing this morning and went straight to work...I am exhausted! and Kevin went over to the house right after work and is still working on it now!  Oh yeah, on the way home from the airport I took public transportation.  Two men got into a pretty fierce argument resulting in one of them throwing a tall can of soda back onto the bus spraying over almost a dozen of us just about causing a riot.  There are some things I really won't miss about living in the city. Ok, tomorrow I am back at the house as our new dishwasher, washer and dryer are being delivered (yay!) and we have to finish the paint touch ups and clean up because the floor demolition will be starting this week.  Whew, I need to get to bed! Not really, well maybe:)

Baby Bump Update

*I apologize for the lateness but all the stuff with our new home is exhausting!

How far along: 30 weeks!

Size of baby: A squash?  He is 2.5 to 3.5 lbs and 15" to 16.5" long

Movement: People have been asking about his hiccups.  I wasn't sure how I would know if he was having them.  At my 12-week checkup we caught them on the ultrasound which was pretty funny but I couldn't feel them.  Well, I'm pretty sure the hiccups started over the last week.  He moves so much that how could I tell but there have been three times where there is a very rhythmic movement for a couple minutes.  Kevin even got to feel them.  Of course I started feeling bad...don't they make him uncomfortable?! I need to get ahold of all this worrying but that's what parents do right?:)

Sleep: After these long, hard days of housework and actual work sleep has been better.  I am SO tired!

Maternity clothes: Ordered a few more tops today:)

Symptoms: Itchy belly! My goodness does a good belly scratch feel good...haha!

Cravings: My husband pointed out that my craving over this pregnancy has been fruit.  It's so funny how other people see things that you do all the time and you don't even notice.  Boy am I loving fruit.  That's not a new thing but right now I could eat fruit all day every day.

Aversions: Nothing new.

What I'm looking forward to: Getting our house ready for our new family.  I just love being there and knowing this will be our son's first home.

Baby daddy: This house thing is quite stressful and we have so much work to get done.  And when I say we I mean everyone but me and of course mostly Kevin.  No one wants me to do anything.  The hubby says my job is to let our baby grow and be healthy.  It is so hard to just have him work a full day and then go to our house and work on it for hours while I stay home.  I really do everything that I can and he never makes me feel like I'm not doing enough which I appreciate so much because I have shed many tears about feeling useless.

Weekend Wrap-up

Can you guess what we did this weekend?!
The in-laws getting ready for their second day of painting.  So thankful for them!
My in-laws came out on Friday and painted with Kevin. My mom came up on Saturday to help and the in-laws stayed all weekend and painted.  We are so lucky to have amazing, helpful parents.
Spare bedroom before.

Spare bedroom after.
We are having the worst luck with contractors.  Last week we had our first appointment with a flooring guy and he informed us that we had something called 9 inch tile under the current flooring which may or may not have asbestos and he wouldn't do anything until he talked to his company and they would call us the next day.  Why our inspector did not catch or mention this we are still trying to figure out.
"Master" bedroom before.

After
The same day as the flooring, PG&E was supposed to come over to turn our gas back on after the tenting.  They were supposed to call before they came but when they hadn't yet called 4 hours into their 5 hour appointment window my husband went to the house to find a note on the door saying they had missed us and would need us to reschedule.  No phone call.  I then called them to find out what happened and was told they cannot guarantee that the guy coming out to do the gas would call even though they put it in the notes.  Why would you not tell me that when you said you were putting the phone call in the notes and said the guy would call?
Lucas's room before.

After
The flooring company was supposed to call us the next day, on Friday, to let us know how to move forward.  No call on Friday.  On Saturday we were supposed to get a window estimate from the same company as the flooring place.  I called 40 min after their scheduled time but no show to find out they had canceled our appointment because they had our wrong phone number.  So then I asked about the no call-back on the flooring (which they have the correct phone number for) to find out they have no idea what is going on but will get back to us.  They finally did to say we had to get the 9 inch tile tested.  We'll get those results tomorrow.  Crossing our fingers! The flooring will take about 2 weeks just to get in so we are really cutting it close as we have to be out of our rental by the end of the month.
Living/dining room before.

After
The husband is at the house now for another company's window appointment and they were 40 min late! Is this normal? Or are we having really bad luck?!
My doc doesn't want me around paint fumes so this was my workspace.
I'm letting the hubby do all the stressing since it's not good for me and the baby but boy is it hard to keep my cool.
We're painting everything white except for our's and Lucas's rooms until I can make a final decision on a color if that is what we decide but wow what a fresh coat of paint can do! I can only imagine what a difference new flooring would make.  And for now it is just my imagination:(
Wish us luck!

Happy New Year!

Being about 7 months pregnant we decided not to do anything big on new year's eve.  We walked around the city, did some shopping that day and then stayed in that night.
We got crazy that night;)
We watched movies and of course I fell asleep at about 11:30 p.m. so Kevin woke me up in time to see the ball drop.  To me, it was a great night.  It was a beautiful day in the city on new year's day so we walked across the Golden Gate Bridge.  Neither of us had done that before and it was pretty cool.

The hubby with his last couple hours of long hair.

Blue skies but oh so windy and chilly!

Loved the walk!
I decided to not really make any New Year's resolutions this year but to just enjoy the year.  Of course I added one at the last minute and that is to keep up with our checkbook.  Kevin is so good at it but we decided I would manage our joint accounts so I want to be on top of it.

2013 has so much in store for us and I could not be more excited.

Happy new year to you all!

Baby Bump Update

How far along: 29 weeks!
28 weeks
29 weeks

Size of baby: Butternut squash, about 2.5 lbs.  (I thought that the doctor would tell me this info since I had an appointment today but she has never given me measurements or the weight.  I have no idea if this is normal but I am wondering if I expect too much from my doctor or if this is just how it is.  I had to ask for an ultrasound today!)

Movement: At Christmas we were seeing my mom so I made a promise to myself that she had to feel him because at Thanksgiving he stopped moving every time she got close.  My middle sister got to feel him kick without much time but every time he got going and I got my mom to come over he would stop.  It was almost comical except I could tell my mom was a bit sad.  FINALLY she got to feel him! I don't know if I've said this before but I feel like my son is already that kid who always does something accept for when you want him to show other people:)

Sleep: Blah... I get uncomfortable very easily.

Maternity clothes: I have had maybe 5 maternity tops.  Since my shirts were still fitting I just didn't see the need to spend the money.  That quickly changed when I was wearing a longer top and it still couldn't completely come over my belly.  Pretty embarrassing! So I did some shopping on NYE day.  Got some pretty good deals too.  If I were to give advice to any mommy-to-be it is if you are going to be pregnant during cold months you will need maternity clothes (I don't care how small you are!) so you might as well get them early to get your money out of them.

Symptoms: Is not being able to bend over completely a symptom?

Cravings: Coffee!  I know that you are allowed some coffee each day when pregnant but I don't see the need so I barely drink it and if I do it's always decaf.  I guess this could go in the "what I miss" section as well. Well, before Christmas I had a flavored decaf latte from Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf and it was amazing! I forgot how much I love their drinks.  I'm normally a Starbucks gal but if Coffee Bean had a place on every corner that would be another story.  Good thing they aren't right now or Lucas may just go crazy;) BTW, I would love to have a local place but I don't really like the taste of coffee that much and I cannot find a local place that makes a good fru-fru (sp?) coffee drink.

Aversions: I forget about these but remembered I cannot stand gum right now.  Oh, I want to barf just thinking about it.  So I have been carrying around mints.

Baby Daddy: Have I mentioned how much I love this man?;)  Last week out of the blue he said "Lucas isn't even here yet and I already love him so much." MELT MY HEART! And then this week Lucas was curled up on the right side of my tummy which felt weird so I had Kevin feel my tummy and he said, "He already does such cute things!" Um, not sure what is cute about that but boy does it make me think my hubby is so darn cute for thinking that way.
