You are now 8 months old! I feel like you are officially not a little baby anymore. Apparently, you are still kind of little, weighing in at 16.5 pounds, but you are as rollie pollie as ever! You can still wear some Gap 3-6 mo clothes. Mostly you are in 6 month clothes but I just found out that you can also wear some 6-12 month clothes. You can probably fit in 9 month clothes too but haven't tried. Though I will because they are some cute outfits waiting for you!
This was quite a month filled with adventures!
Birthday parties,
the zoo,
enjoying the carousel,
and your first ride! At the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk.
You are still a pretty easy baby but you definitely have your quirks;) You continue to gag when food touches your mouth but you are LOVING food in your mesh teether. You have eaten carrots, chicken, steak, pork, avocado (not a fan), peaches and bananas
but so far watermelonand beets are your favorite!
We are also kind of trying the baby led weaning method so you have successfully gnawed on mango and corn. I am very skittish about you choking so this only goes on for so long but you do seem to like food this way also. Again, not avocado though.
You are having such a great time in swimming but bath time is still absolutely miserable:( We cannot figure out what is so different and horrible.
Brother time has not gotten any less exciting for you and now that you are a bit more mobile you go after him anytime you are close.
The jumper is getting a little more use but you aren't in love with it.
You were a little nervous with your first swing but then quickly decided it was a lot of fun.
You also got your first ride in the grocery cart and thought it was amazing! I wish the grocery store had double carts because this was so much better than you being in the Ergo the whole time.
You got pretty sick at the beginning of the month so we put you on a nebulizer. It helped with your wheezing but you had a cough for over a month. It finally went away completely a couple of days ago.
I had such a wonderful Mother's Day with you!
Your sleep at night has not been so great so I have made changes to your brother's activity schedule giving you a better chance for good naps. You have been taking 2-3 naps a day. More two naps than three because you have been taking some 2 hour naps. You go to bed between 6 and 7 pm depending on the 2 or 3 naps, two naps being an earlier bed time. This has seemed to help a bit with your wakings at night (two times) but you are waking up in the 5 am hour. I am so hoping this is just a phase.
When people look at you they can't help but react to your warm smile!
And you don't want to be left out of anything.
You have even started to get mad when you don't get something you want or something gets taken away from you. You also throw things on the floor from your high chair when you are done with them. We're working on this;) I feel like we are getting a little taste of your teen years...
You just started pushing up when you are on your tummy sometimes scooting yourself backward.
You also can hold on to something and stand which totally took me by surprise!
I have completely given up on you taking a bottle so we are going to try with straw cups but currently straws, or maybe its the water, make you gag too.
We love you so much little one and are so very excited to watch you take on the adventures ahead of you!
Love,
Mama and Dada
