What We Can Create: Happy 5 Months Lil' Lady!

Oh how you are giving even more light to this family! First your stats. You are apparently exactly the same size as last month but since this was done at home I'm not freaking out at the lack of change. You are 14 lbs 3 oz and 24.5 in tall.

You are wearing 3-6 mo and 6 mo clothes with the occasional 3 mo outfits. Your disposable diapers are a size 2. You are wearing cloth diapers at home but we are too active to change your diaper every hour when we are out. (Why can't cloth diapers not leak?!)

On February 23 you officially rolled over from your back to your stomach. You had been rolling over like this for awhile but you could never pull your arm out from under you and last Monday you finally did.

You seemed so proud of yourself. Now you really have no issues with it except that you haven't figured out how to roll onto your back so you get upset after awhile on your tummy.

You are completely sleeping in your crib now. We had planned on doing this right when you turned four months but you got pretty sick, along with the rest of us, so we held off. You got your first fever and had a cough for two weeks. It was so sad.

No need to remember the sadness:)

When you felt better we kept you in your crib all night. It was a bit rough with you waking up 1-2 times more than normal but you seem to have figured it out and now are waking up only 1-2 times after your dream feed. The last couple nights I have only been feeding you the first wake up and the second time if you wake up before 6 am you talk a little but then fall back asleep. When we put you in your crib at night we also decided to wean you from swaddling.

Since you really liked the swaddle to fall asleep it was a little hard but once you were completely weaned after a week you really had no issues. You are still falling asleep in your car seat when we are out and about but you prefer to be in the Ergo so your normal four naps a day sometimes are only two or three if I can't Ergo you.

You think your brother is so funny. If he acknowledges you at all you just start giggling. Daddy and I are finally getting you to laugh regularly but Lucas is by far the best at it.

We are regularly going to the zoo but you don't stay awake for much of it. I think the animal sounds must be soothing because you take pretty good naps while you are there.

You discovered your tongue and you think it is great. You are sticking it out all the time and smiling while doing so.

Teethers are another thing you love. I'm not sure you are actually teething but you really nosh on anyone we give you or put in your mouth. You aren't really picking up toys yet but if we put them next to you or on your tummy you can get them and in your mouth they go!
